piCture pOlish Blog fest- Flirt

Thanks to the Canada postal strike, all my mails had been delayed including this package from piCture pOlish. But I'm glad that it arrived in the mailbox in one piece this morning.

I was given the opportunity to participate in this blog fest and the shade that I get to review is called Flirt. (Warning you may get loads of attention!!) Like the description says, its a HOT and SPICY color especially for summer! Under the sunlight it appears to be bright pink, but in the shade it looks like dark pink/purple. 

This is my first piCture pOlish polish and I have to say I'm very impressed with how smooth the application is. The only problem I had is that the drying time takes a bit too long. Other than that, this bright neon pink only requires 2 coats and dries matte.

After applying a coat of black and silver shatter and a layer of glitter polish after 2 coats of Flirt, the color stands out even more!

How can I not do some nail art using this shade? >.< Some hand-drawn roses and lace to give it a sweet princess look.

My Melody nail art

Long long long overdue post, I know I know >.< but I had to finish all my assignments and exam before I have time to do nail art. So forgive me *wink* So, this was a request from Minnie from Mini Nail Blog, My Melody. Unfortunately, my hand became rusty after I stopped drawing a few weeks ago and it was shaking alot. And thats why My Melody looks like a snowman. Sigh.

Rainbow glitters(again), just because I LOVE glitters. ^_^

Secret Weapon and tutorial

Nah, its a secret weapon everyone has. But mine is a MODIFIED weapon and I shall tell you why.*evil laugh* But first, let me show you my base army: OPI base coat, that prepares everything before the war starts. I've not try any other base coat other than this so I cannot tell you which is the best. At least it works for me. As for the top coat, i think everyone would have to agree with me that Seche Vite is the holy grail of topcoat.

Now onto the "Commander": I hired him at a very cheap price, like a dollar or so from ebay and he works really hard for me (sometimes OT too!) LOL. This is the usual brush you see selling on ebay  except I kinda trim the hair abit to have even thinner stroke.

Note: I ONLY use nail polish for all my nail art because thats the reason why I buy nail polish: to use them =) And by mixing different nail polish to achieve the color I want, I sometimes accidentally "fraken" some interesting color and effect too!

Kiki and Lala Nail art

After all the hectic exam and assignment period, I had some time off to do nail art. Hello Kitty is probably the last on my to-do list but Kiki and Lala is the next eventhough they are from the same family.

The inspiration came from this picture I found on google image.

Canucks nail art

Very dissapointed, not because Vancouver lost the game, but because of the riot that happened in downtown after the final game. Vehicles was set on fire, fighthing, stabbing, window smashing and looting while the police tried to control the crowd by shooting tear gas everywhere. Very embarrasing and shame on you, rioters!

Speechless and heart broken. Sigh. But still we all know Canucks team did their best. =)

Microbes Nail art

I'm going to traumatize you with bacteriums because of all the lovely comments you left me. *Evil laugh* Having to face the smell of bacteria at least 3 times a week, everything outside the lab smells like E. coli now. Don't worry, the one you see right now is not as ugly or stinky like the real ones. But still, hopefully you would at least be traumatized by its cuteness. >.<

Oh, thoese are their scientific names(red)by the side.

These characters are from a japanese anime called "Moyashimon" where a guy can see different microbes with his naked eye. If you like microbes like I do, be sure to check out this anime because this is one of my all-time fav anime. =D

Gloomy Bear nail art

I can't believe Gloomy bear wasn't on my nail art To-do list until today when I saw my gloomy bear collection card. But because i have microbio exam on tuesday, I don't have much time to spend on this nail art. Therefore, this would be just a simple design. I tried to make my index and ring finger to look like bloody claws. What do you think about it?

Unlike Happy Tree Friends, Gloomy bear is alot more "friendly"and "cuter", at least towards his owner.

Naruto nail art

This was actually a request from elf_ and I hope you are not dissapointed with this. My hand was very shaky (even right now) from coffee overdose for the past few days and hopefully it will return back to normal soon. =3=

Im not really a Naruto person but the bf is, eventhough Naruto was my first anime before i got addicted to japanese anime. Personally I prefer Bleach over Naruto because ever since the first season, they have been dragging on the storyline and it became boring to me.

 

Because I'm still learning how to contour face and color blending, all the character's face have to look pale for now. I did try some contouring here but it didn't really show up in the photo. That is why Sakura and Sasuke face look out of proportion. =P

Anywho, ITS WEEKEND AGAIN!! How exciting! It just means more time=more nail art.
